Regularly checking body condition scores is one of the simplest and most valuable management tools producers can use. Monitoring condition allows you to identify stock that may need supplementary feeding earlier, before weight loss begins to affect health, fertility and production.

A hands-on body condition check can also tell a more accurate story than appearance alone - especially once winter coats begin to thicken.
